Simply spectacular. Traditional technique with a bit of grit is my kind of style. The layout design is very cinematic and enforcing the emotional impact of the story. "Show, don't tell" is an admirable choice in your storytelling, few people pull it off so well. Animation is fluid and well timed. Not just character animation but the visual effects are even better and more difficult to pull off. Even on mute, the entertainment hasn't changed in the least. I love this thing from start to finish.

siskavard responds:

whoa.. thanks for the in-depth review!

Not bad for your first time. Be proud. Keep up the good work.

ArtisticNinja responds:

Thank you :D I'll probably in future redo this to see the progression of my animations :D

I can relate to that

FrostDrive responds:

The cartoon is a success then! x3

Good try

The background and book prop looked decent. The acting animation was adequate. The characters would have stood out more if they overlapped the horizon line.

megadrivesonic responds:

thanks, though do you think i should have used some more subtle gradients

A bit esoteric

I've never questioned the purpose of toilet paper. It's meant to remove any stains left over to avoid foul smells and diaper rash. Have you ever had some doo-doo left over in your crack, squishing and squashing between your checks? It's a constant reminder which hinders your performance in your daily life. And diaper rash is something to avoid for obvious reasons. Thus, I salute you, toilet paper!

OvenGloves responds:

No you see toilet paper is great thing indeed, but what I'm saying is that making it smell nice is pointless, since nobody is going to come up to you and smell how fresh your anus is.

Lame

Your art style gave me the impression that this flash had some potential. But the moment the song started, it too a serious nose dive. The animation was good, but the story was severely lacking.

AmethystApple responds:

Well.. that's alright, I respect your opinion.. It was just.. yeah.. I should get better ideas.. I don't know.
Anyways, thank you for the compliment, really appreciate it :)

Very Expressive

The floating face has conveyed such emotion when it was singing. Much fire in his soul.

TaloOfOz responds:

HEY!! THANKS!

Original

Despite what others may say, they can't deny that this is something they never seen before.

shankrxn8111 responds:

More the reason to like it.

Beautiful

I'm just touched by this. First off, there's great empathy towards the character. I believe everyone can relate to this, and an emotional connection is key for a successful story. The artwork and music was crude and subtle, but it works for you. Unlike most things on NG, this isn't over-the-top and over stimulating. So it was pleasant and calming to watch. And lastly, the phrase "Actions speak louder than words" comes to mind. Seeing the character expressing how he feels communicated better than blurting it out. This was good work, my friend.

MorrowDays responds:

hey, glad you liked it
in english class we've been studying macbeth/story conventions and even though I don't toottally love my teacher this year, I've been finding the 'formula' really helpful for animating. Things like having the character go 'out into the world' and come back transformed in some way, creating an emotional connection, other things like that.

again, really glad you liked it, thanks for the review! :)

Not bad

I've seen worse! At first I was concerned about the stationary bike with all the crazy lines, but it got better later on. Very action-packed; you have alot of animation potential, too. But there needs to be more acting among the stick-figures. And wheres the motivation to all of this?! Why was that bike guy chasing him? Why did the black stick bust in the building and beat up all those guys. Why did the reds attack him? Were they protecting something?

Well, you get where I'm going...

Better do some serious writing for Pt. 2, for your sake.

Su1c1d3r responds:

Hopefully you will understand the story better for part 2. Thanks for the review!
